Aftercare wise what I like to do when I have bright colours and what I did last time I had red is buy a little plastic spray bottle and put a few drops of the dye you're using into the bottle and fill it with water, shake it up and whenever you notice your hair fading spray it in and wash it out at night time or something. It'll help touch it up without using a whole tube of product and always having to buy more dye. Also when it comes to washing getting a good shampoo and conditioner for dyed hair is good too, I think you can buy specific shampoo and conditioner for red hair also. Try to wash it every other day instead of every night (I wash my hair everyday which is why I say that) to keep it from fading more than It needs to. :)

I have red hair at the moment and I only shampoo once a week when I do I use a professional color shampoo and aftercare products and instead of using permanent colors to touch up your hair when it starts to fade use a semi to freshen it up without damaging and drying it out more

I've had red hair for almost two years now -- see profile pic. finally found the right formula... I use the red hi lites from Sally's. only wash my hair once a week in cold water. wash the roots with shampoo and only condition the ends. you can get a filler for your conditioner to add color. I dye my hair every six weeks (six washes)
