I don't think it's oxidation probably just the color fading since we consume about 75% or something the product that's on our lips usually gets ingested as we eat our food or drink our drinks it usually just rubs off.

That's true Diana, but for me with Mac heroine. I literally applied it when I got in the car n by the 15min drive home my friend (guy at that, they usually never notice nothing) was like wasn't your lipstick purple? its red now..
I get the same thing with mac sheen supreme in Asian flower. its a problem for me with purples, the red pink base separates.
but not with occ liptar in rollergirl, it stays lavender. I love it!..

It has to do with ph levels in your skin...more acidic or more alkaline will mess around with the outcome of lipstick/gloss. Diet and any medications you are taking can mess around with your ph levels.

Hmm very interesting this does not happen to me where the lipstick completely changes color - but sometimes when I put on reds they look orange against my olive/tan skin tone and I find that strange it's so hard to find a good red for my skin tone :T.

Yes they do. Esp. after I take a nap. I wake up with a brighter version of wheni first put on. Blush, shadow, eyeliners, lipliners & lipstick all get darker & brighter as the day goes on. I have to always have a light hand when applying my makeup. Ironically, the only thing that does not oxidize on me is my foundation.

Fascinating. The ph thing would make sense as to why something like Candy Yum Yum or Ruby Woo can look soooo different on us all. Obvs our skin tones play a role but sometimes I see a lippie and it's unrecognizable or on some people it's just like made for them.

I agree with the ph levels I've been on a super health kick since december and since I've been taking my probiotics both regular and ones made for women my lips no longer turn a bluish shade when I wear purples (:
