So my skin isnt that great but its not that bad either but i do have some blackheads in the t zone area, and i know that salicylic acid is the ingredient that really helps out with acne prone skin but im using this product twice a day with my clarisonic and its making my face a bit red and dry. Is it suppose to do that? Should i just use it once a day instead or just keep doing what im doing?

U should just use it once a day because usually on the bottle it will say that u should limit the use if that happens:)

I really love St. Ives green tea scrub. It has the calming effects of green tea along with the healing benefits of salicylic acid. I use it once in the morning and black soap at night. My skin is oily/acne prone and the scrub has made such a huge difference.

If it's still red and dry at once a day try every other. Redness means you just over dried it

Colleen, out of curiosity what's black soap! And Jazmyn if the redness doesn't clear up when switching to once a day I'd try a facial cleanser with moisturizing agents in it! Also I get blackheads as well - id head to a drugstore and pick up biore pore blackhead strips! They work wonders :)

I would just use a gentle cleanser and treat the area. Otherwise you could dry up the rest of your face and create other problems.

Neens C. Drop the Biore strips and get yourself a bar of black soap from Whole Foods. I use it and the stuff is awesome. Basically, it gently cleans out and tightens up your pores. It also decreases your oil production, it doesnt stop it but it slows it down a bit. It helped clear out a few minor blkheads I had without having to do a manual extraction. I remember not using it for a week and my skin rebelled and I broke out but once I started using it again my skin settled down again. So now I just try and use it once a day in rotation with my cleansing oil. You're skin will love you for it. Plus, one bar will last you forever.

Neens C. Here is a page with people's reviews of black soap. it's yummy! I think I like it because it looks so different from anything else. :) I was hesitant to use a bar soap on my face but it makes my face feel really clean but not over dry. It has really helped my acne. And you can get it for under $5.00 usually at health food stores which is another plus!

You are over drying it. Using the clarisonic you are ultimately exfoliating. The salicylic acid is also known as a exfoliator. You need to calm and soothe your skin. Try a green tea mask.
