I've made about five pairs of my own jeans from a couple pairs of hand -me- downs , but I've been finding that although they fit my hips and my larger bum, that they do not fit my waist. I wouldn't say that it's small but my hips are 38-40 inches wide, I wear a 7-9 in juniors but I can fit into 4/6 in women's, my waist is about 27 inches, how do I go about finding high rise jeans that are fitted in the waist but fit my butt too? Do you ladies have any idea how I can alter jeans if there isn't any other way? I've tried to get into jeans that go by waist size , but I cannot get them even up to my knees... Please help!

I have the same problem with high waisted anything too. I have wide, curvy hips and wide upper thighs and a wide bottom, but my waist is pretty tiny. I would go to a tailor. They'll measure you and alter them to fit your exact dimensions

Thank you girls! Do you think there is a way to alter them without going to a tailor? I don't want to spend a lot of money to tailor on shorts that weren't exactly high quality to begin with!

I have the same issue as you. I have a tiny waist but I have bigger hips and bum. I just got some high waisted shorts from American Eagle. Their shorts are super stretch so I was able to find ones that actually fit.

The only high waisted shorts that fit me are from Charlotte Russe. I think it's the revenge brand

Thank you Jacqlyn! I was thinking they were more expensive to alter! I have to try some of the AE ones next time I hit the mall, and thank you Kaitlin too, I have an AE and Charlotte Russe at the mall near me so I will have to look at those!

If you don't want to pay for a tailor find a pair of jeans that fit your hips and your thighs comfortably then use darts to take in the waist. You can look up tutorials on how to sew darts, they are pretty straight forward and if you are doing them you can make them fit you any way you want! :)

I have the same prob! My waist is 24 and hips are 33! So evn if it fits my hips it nevr fits my waist! I think you should get it altered by a tailor unless your good with diys! :)

Same thing here waist of 24 in and bum of 39 and hips of 34. I usually try getting jeggings type of shorts or buy normal shorts and have them altered its not to expensive or have your grandma alter thm
