Yes, vitamin c serum literally changed my life! Within a few nights of using it my dark spots vanished! For actual bumps, I use diluted tea tree oil, 2.5 percent benzoyl perioxide, or some sulfer treatment.

Benzoyl peroxide all the way! Agree with Jacqlyn, sometimes we don't give spf as much importance as we should, especially since your skin could become sensitive due to acne products.

Cleanse your skin to remove excess oil, dirt and makeup (of course) I've found that a cleansing oils, black soap or Pharmacy fresh soap (from lush) all work great.
Kill bacteria with a homemade toner, (equal parts ACV, Witch Hazel and Distilled water, as well as Thyme (dried or fresh, 2tsp/cup of liquid) use this after washing your face, spending a lot of time outside or working out.
A moisturizer with vit. C for sure, my fav. is Fresh Seaberry oil (~$20 but using a drop or two over the course of the day.
This took me from moderate constant breakouts persisting 13 years to nearly clear skin in less than 2 weeks.
