Using lush caca brun henna, I got these results... The lengths R fine, but my roots are hot red! Before I hennaed my hair was a washed out red, but now my roots are even more intense while my lengths are pretty much the brown I wanted... How do I fix this? Should I add lemon juice to the mixture to increase the acidity of the henna? Therefore darkening it??
Help would be much appreciated! ✌️

Babe, lemon juice will take away the orange colour if that's what you want. My mum had the same prob she used to use henna for her hair.

From what I've read sometimes the henna had to oxidize for a few days before becoming it's true color. There's a REALLY good free e-book on henna that should help. I'll post a link when I get home.

The reason why your roots turned red is because your roots were virgin, meaning that there was no color or your hair had been color treated. I personally would not add lemon juice. lush's henna is full of red undertones. my advice is to just go over it with hair dye. I personally would not add the lemon juice and re-apply because you just don't know what your results will be.

Laura, first I need to tell you Lush henna is not real natural henna!
Therefore I don't know what works with natural henna, will work with it.
Second thing there's not such thing as brown henna! There's only red henna. Everything else is mixed with other chemicals.
Third, you can't get a uniform color with henna as the result always depends from your hair color. Where your hair is lighter or darker, the henna will show diffetently.
So I suppose your roots were lighter or not colored as the rest of your hair.
Anyway, what worls to remove or fade henna from hair, is olive oil!
I've used it personally.
You can try with warm olive oil, sleep with it and repeat till you remove or fade it till you're satisfied.
And don't color over henna, at least for another 2 months.
As I said, being your henna mixed, can't really be sure of what works or what happens.

Lush isn't real natural
Henna :) but I do prefer it to other Henna I've used and never had this problem before... Haha. But thank you for information!! I really do appricate it. At this point I think I'm just going to do it again and leave it on even longer haha...
