Batiste does add texture and it's pretty reliable. I'd maybe try a tester size if you're still not sure though?

Love batiste.have dark hair too and original batiste works great.

I have dark hair and use baby powder. The colored powders I've used always leave my scalp looking weird. But with baby powder you just have to make sure you blend it all the way in and it gives volume and absorbs grease! I keep a mini in my purse and have a big bottle at home lol.

As others have already suggested, Batiste. They make all kinds of varieties and they have one that is colored so it doesn't show up white on dark hair.
