My lips get really dry and peel a lot when I apply lip stick/ lip gloss. I've tried applying Chapstick as a base but it doesn't help. Any suggestions on products?

You could try a lip primer? Also, as the lovely Jacqlyn mentions, something that isn't a barrier-like balm. Petroleum based balms moisture lock, stopping the moisture from escaping. So look at something that will provide and restore the moisture. Also, steer clear of mattifying lippie as they tend to be drying. And lastly, try using a lip pencil all over the lips prior to lippy application. X.

I absolutely love rose bus salve for dry lips. I recommend using it every morning and every night. I use it after snowboarding cause the cold dry wind really does take it's toll, and it really is a life saver so dry chapped lips. Also try a sugar scrub twice a week to get rid of dead skin, and keep your lips smooth and soft.
Daily I also recommend keeping a chap stick with you and re applying every time your lips feel dry to ensure you're not licking them which can dehydrate them further.

If you can, try applying just a touch of Lush's Ultra Balm, this stuff is so good it's healing my psoriasis, I've completely stopped using prescription typical steroids because of it. I use it on my lips before lupine and lipstick and it works wonders.
