How do I get gages. My ears are already pierced.

You'll have to go to a professional to get them done. You'll also need to know the size you want and if you want tapers or plugs.

Your ears are pierced at a 20 gauge. Go to Hot Topic or Spencer's or a place that sells body jewelry and get a 16 gauge (skip the 18, it's seriously the same as a 20). Then every month or when your ears don't hurt, by the next gauge down- so 14, 12, 10 ect. Hope I helped!

Agree with Kaitlin. Just buy one of the small sizes and keep going down. You can put ice on your ear beforehand and during to help numb your ear. I got to a size 2 within a month (I would give it a few days before sizing up) Some people's ears are more sensitive then mine, so just be carefull and if it hurts to much just wait longer to get to your next size. For some it could be a process. But it's all up to how you deal with pain lol I took mine out before they got to big though, my job didn't like them.

And you don't necessarily have to size up one at a time, I skipped a couple sizes everytime.

You don't need to go to a professional lol. Just get a tapering set from hot topic or even amazon has some good ones, start with a 16 or 14g and work your way up to the size you want. You can skip sizes but I'd be careful so you don't have a blowout (ripping of the earlobe) just lube the taper really well with conditioner, lotion, Vaseline or lube specifically made for stretching. I'm a chicken so I could never skip sizes. Also, I feel like a stainless steel tapering kit would be better than an acrylic one but it's up to you. What size do you want to go up to??
