Is this close to a smokey eye? I used browns instead of blacks!

It looks nice I would maybe add some dark in your outer v area so that it is more of a smokey. I love the fact that you have used browns x

Although this is not a correct smokey eye, it's pretty! A correct smokey eye is black (or very dark ) at the lashline and it lightens as it goes upward towards the brow bone. Putting black in the outer v would make it a gradient eye, instead of a smokey eye. This picture should help you out a bit! Also? Ms Jackie suggest Robert jones makeup academy's smokey eye video on YouTube! It helped me master the smokey eye!

Really good try! Smokey eyes are pretty hard. I like to work from the lash line and up. Lay your darker shade (no, it does not have to be black or a dark brown) on your entire lid and make sure you get a little bit of that into the crease. Then with your medium shade and a blending brush, you want to blend that color into the crease. By doing this, you are creating a nice transition from that darker shade and into that medium shade. Then, taking your lighter shade, usually your brow-bone highlight, you're going to take a fluffy blending brush and blend that medium shade all the way up until it dissolves into your brow bone color. Try to keep it simple at first with the three shades and I'm sure it will help :)
