I love braided ponytails for story's Bc they're secure and sporty and cute. Also when you take your hair out it looks pretty great as well :)

A messy bun is not going to work if you're competing as a runner. All its going to do is come loose and obstruct your vision. I ran track and cross country for 4 years...being cute was the last thing on my mind. I wore my hair in a ponytail and braided. And then I put it in a bun.

Totally agree with Shelley. You'll hate that bouncy bun pulling your hair with every step. When I run I like to have it out if the way. I braid my bangs to make sure they don't touch my face and not to get an awkward pompadour whenever I go really fast. The braided ponytail is actually the best option. A normal pony tail will only leave you with one giant tangle.
