Get as much of the damaged hair trimmed off as you can, go back for trims every 6-8 weeks, start using a leave in conditioner or even better an argan oil, stop using heat or at least cut back usage, don't brush your hair while it's wet or if you need to then use a wide toothed comb or invest in a "wet brush", & start doing an over night oil mask once a week. I like to use coconut oil before bed (you could also use olive or almond) and apply it from my ears down, sleep with a shower cap on then shampoo it out in the morning. This is what I do and my hair hits just above my bum and is pretty healthy.

Wow thanks ladies and it's nice to know about the Maine and tail shampoo I was considering using it to help my hair grow but I think I'll try something else.

Also, massage your hair with a mixture of 2 spoons mustard oil. 1 spoon olive oil n half spoon caster oil. It REALLY works wonders

I personally use a deep condition kit, or hot oil treatment in between hair styles and it work wonders for me! xx

Sorry this took me so long to respond. It is bad to brush your hair when wet because it is at its weakest point and is more likely to break off when brushing wet vs dry.
