Should you start using "anti aging" creams in your 20s?

So obviously there's a big hype about the anti aging, anti wrinkles skin care lines.
I think that if you already have wrinkles and your skin has lost it's elasticity that some lotion isnt going to fix it.
So is it important to start using these creams while your young to help your skin keep it's plumpness and stay firm?

In my opinion, it can't hurt to start using them at a younger age. I do! I mean, I don't go all out with every possible anti-aging product offered, but I do use some. It's better to start now so that it will help possibly delay the aging effects, rather than using them when I'm older and it's too late and some of the effects are irreversible. You know?

That's what I thought too!
What products are you guys using?
I'm really trying to remember to apply under eye cream, I have the entire like of the Cindy Crawford anti aging beauty line

Well since I work there, I'm now required to use bareMinerals' skincare products. I use our Active Night Cell repair serum, firming eye treatment, and wrinkle repair cream on any areas I know are at risk of becoming wrinkly one day lol.

Truly required. Full face when necessary, using all of their products. Of course they give me a generous supply, so it's not like I had to buy all of it. Not to mention, I like the product lol, so that always helps!

Yeah I thought that was a bit much too, but I suppose it makes sense. I get clients that will be like, "Oh, I love what blush you're wearing, what is it?" Or something similar you know, so I have to be able to reference it to something we sell. It would be embarrassing if they asked me which foundation was I wearing or something because they were interested, and then have it be some other brand. But I just wear my other brands outside of work haha. ;)

I have heard conflicting information, however I have heard more frequently that if you start when you don't need them, they will become ineffective and actually end up useless in the long run.

Bare minerals is a great brand! My mom uses their foundation and it's so flawless on here.
I tried it out but my skin tends to get really oily so it just went cakey for me.
And their primer caused both of us to have big under the skin breakouts.
But I love their bronzer!

Which foundation formulation did you try, just out of curiosity? And which primer? I've never heard of such a thing! Huh, did you ever find out why that happened? I'm very interested.

Well we have our new liquid foundation haha. Excuse me, serum foundation I mean. * :p
I don't know if that'd even make a difference for you, Jacqlyn. It makes me wonder if every cosmetic company has a rule similar to that.

Really? Hm. Maybe because they carry so many brands? I don't know lol, but it is strange. I'll send you a sample of it haha! :p

A ton of anti-aging products double as acne/hyperpimentation products. Retin-a was invented for acne, and retinol helps it too. Vitamin C, a common wrinkle fighter, helps with acne scarring as well. So I think that it's ok.

Haha, that's one way to do it! ;) Well I wish you the best of luck with your search!

It was years ago, probably just their first primer they had out. Gave us both bad under the skin pimples around our chin.
I loved their powdered foundation as well but since I have a lot of acne scares and still present acne, I didn't like the coverage

I also found the liquid foundation to seem too sheer aswell.

Hm, very interesting indeed. You should go try out some of the newer products to see if they behave the same. We have like..six different primers now? And have you tried the Ready pressed foundation? Also, when you used the new foundation, did you use the brush that was designed for it? If so, how many drops did you do? Sorry for all of the questions, I just like to hear people's different experiences with the products.

I would suggest doing it if you can afford the upkeep once you start! Lol but my mom starting in her 20's ( she used/still uses Olay ) and she's 50( hope she never sees I posted her age 😅) but she looks 35!! It's so amazing :)

You cold even start wearing sunscreen, with an higher level. Most of the normal creams have SPF 20 or 15. But it's better to use an real sunscreen with 30 or higher. My neighbour did this (and still does it) and she looks awesome! I always thought it would only help me to avoid pigmented areas (I would look like a cow) but it also helps with skin aging :)

My cousin works for Estée Lauder and she's required to wear a full face everyday and use their makeup. She doesn't like it very much. Lol @Alli P.

So at the moment these are the only things I use for anti aging, and I didn't really buy them for that purpose it just kinda happened (and the cream I got as a deluxe sample). And I do see a difference in my skin when I use them at night.

I didn't use the foundation I just sampled it on my hand and thought it'd be too sheer. I don't wanna go buy a whole bottle without having a sample for my face haha.

I agree you its not going to hurt if you start young! I think the most important thing is to use products with SPF, hydration and antioxidants to protect against environmental damage which are some of the main factors in aging

I agree with Dani. Peptides, Ceramides and SPF are what I'd be looking for at this juncture. Staying hydrated is a must so moisturizer is a simple, beneficial step. CeraVe AM and PM work to do all of that while remaining affordable. They're ideal for even sensitive skin.
