Night club? Help!

Okay ladies, I'm in a conundrum. My friend is celebrating her 21st birthday at a night club. I have never been to a club, so I have no clue what to wear.

I tried researching this, and got conflicting results. The more modest outfits I saw seemed too formal for dancing (e.g. blazer and fitted pants) and much too hot. The night club's website mentions that the dress code is "dress to impress" with no loose or baggy clothes, and apparently the bouncers are pretty sensitive about it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for modest club wear that won't roast me to death? Thanks ladies. :)

You could wear heels (or boots if it's still cold where you live), maybe a fitted skirt (cotton blend) that hits just above your knees that is stretchy so you can still move freely, and a bright colored tank or fitted v neck top that isn't too low cut. I have been to many night clubs in the US and some in Mexico and it seems to me that the bouncers are generally more strict with the males attire vs the ladies. Just make sure it's something fitted and that you have your hair and makeup done. I bet you will have a blast!

That sounds nice, thanks Traci! All of the outfits I have seen have been too formal or too hot. It is in the 80s well into the evening here so a blazer just won't work!

I will try to find a blouse with a little embellishment. Any suggestions for stores?

Maybe a store like Papaya, Love Culture, Rue21, or Forever 21? All of them have online sites so that may help.

A bodycon, mini skirt or black shorts with a fitted blouse (if they are high waisted a crop top would look great!) and high heels. Hair is usually wavy, volume and either a smokey eye or a statement lipcolor apply :)

I never thought to look at Love Culture, I wonder if they carry my size? The F21 in my town doesn't carry plus and their regular clothes don't work for me, unfortunately. I've never heard of Rue21 or Papaya, I will look those up. Thanks Erin!

I really like that black dress Cintya, thanks! I think that would be really flattering. :)

I could never wear a crop top, I'm way too prudish for that. ;) Are shorts allowed? I didn't think that would be formal enough or something. Definitely going to do some dramatic makeup! Thanks for the tips, Lara.

I would say that shorts are allowed if they are a flattering fit and black would be best, don't wear denim ones, and as stated above just pair them with some heels and it would look classy and sassy. =)
You could try shopping at American Apparel, Papaya, Target, Top 2 Bottom, or check the clearance Nordstom's and Macy's for cheap scores!

Thanks Hannah. Those outfits are too revealing for me, but I appreciate the time and effort you took to post them! If I were single and about a hundred pounds thinner I would definitely go for those. ;)
