Have any of you ever purchased makeup, preferably foundation online without knowing your shade? I want to purchase either Dior or Nars foundation. I am kind of eyeing the colors, trying to match myself. IDK I was just wondering. Thanks.

I advise against it. You're better off going to the store and finding the shade that suits your skin tone. You don't wanna look to dark or grey. Lol. It's not a good luck x

Plus there foundation ain't cheap so get to their counter and make them kiss your a$$. A lot of them are to rude and think they own the company. So if you get that person make them test every product then only buy 1 item Lool.

I wouldn't without knowing your shade.. Go find out what shade you are first then order from online. That's probably one thing I wouldn't order online even though I know my shade. I won't order brushes either, I want to touch them first. Bc I ended up bringing a set back I got at Sally bc the brush didn't want to apply shadow to my face.

Thanks ladies! See my nearest sephora is like 1-3 hours away depending on which one I go too! I think I'll just wait until next week and get matched. They are pricey so that right there I can wait on.

If you have a Belk closer try there for color matching. They should have a makeup area. I'll have to check mine.

While you should probably get matched, or at least see the shades in person, if you order online from Sephora they have a really good return policy. Just make sure you keep any papers that come with the order. I order foundation online and usually I'm okay but I'm also fair and know I have yellow undertones so usually any shade that isn't like stark white or porcelain works for me lol. If you know what shade you are in another brand someone could also suggest a shade for you. Urban Decay offers that as well. You can go to their site and input your shade in another foundation and they'll recommend the shade of their foundation. I don't know which brand you're looking at but that's just an example. Some other sites may do it as well now but I'm not sure.

For foundation I have to swatch in person. Lipstick,blush,eyeshadow,etc. I can order online with no issues as I do research first before I click submit.
