here's how I learned to do the "smiling eyes" look for photos:
smile at yourself in the mirror a fee times. look at your face & see the way it changes from smiling to not smiling. then drop the smile, but keep your eyes the way they were while smiling. it takes a little practice, but you will get it & it will become easier. soon you'll be able to do it for all your photos :3

Its a popular make up trend in japan. I think the point is to accent your under eye bags (sounds funny and the opposite of what all that undereye products do,I know) in a way to make that area stand out a little forward. Notice how your under eye bags just near the waterline lift when youre smiling. :)
