Whenever I curl my own hair with my curling iron it never curls as much! I think it's because I bleached my ends (ombre) any tips :(

Definitely try a wand! I had the same problem, my hair never would hold a curl until I used a wand. :)

I find I get a better curl when I use a straightener, and twist it in the direction I want my hair to curl! Plus I always burn myself on wands :( also, the way you dry your hair could affect the curl, when I blowdry my hair the curls fall, when I let it air dry they sit better.

My hair is pin straight, and no hot tools ever make a curl that lasts longer than five minutes. I found that using foam rollers in my hair over night is the only way to get curls that last.
I use mousse, then put in the foam rollers. Then I spray the bejeezus out if my head with Aquanet. I wrap my head up in a silk scarf to keep the rollers from snagging on my bedding, and sleep. The next day I take off the scarf, blast my head with a blow dryer, hit it again with the Aquanet, and wait for it to cool before I take out the rollers. Works like a charm! (A complicated, lengthy and tiring charm...) You can use different sizes of rollers to get different kinds on curls, and they are super cheap at the beauty shop (~$2 a pack at Sally).

Curl a strand, lightly hair spray it then pin it to your head, wait for all of them to cool and let them down... Works for me!

A tapered curling wand and hold it pointing down when you do it and hold the tip of your hair as you pull the wand out.
