I currently don't wear eyeshadow and I am starting to think I look kind of bland without it. I want something that will make my eyes pop. So I am going to start experimenting with smokey eyes and natural eyeshadows.

In order to achieve this look (just the eyes), what products would I need? Also, can someone direct me to some step by step tutorials to get this look or something similar to it?

Thanks ladies!

I suggest you start with something easy before you try a smokey eye, as they can be a little complicated (and especially on here, be careful what you label as a "smokey eye"). So maybe try something like this to start?

Lol I actually didn't want to call that a smokey eye because It actually doesn't look like one on Kim. I just didn't know the proper terminology for something like that. I really like the picture you posted! What is it called and what products do I use?

I know just a warning for the future, people on here can be pretty particular :) for the one that I posted (not my picture, btw), I'd suggest a pale gold shadow a coppery shadow and a darker brown shadow. Also, some black eyeliner :) I'm not sure if there's a specific term for it though, sorry!

For the Kim K one, maybe just try smudging some dark brown eyeliner around your eyes, or using the smokey eye technique (darkest on the lid, middle color in/just above the crease, lightest color under the brow bone) with lighter colors so that you get a similar effect. I'd still use dark brown eyeliner with that, though.

^technically not a smokey eye, but it's very simple and pretty :) Like I said, we on here can be very particular about what is and is not a smokey eye. Michelle, if you'd like a full rundown you should definitely ask Jacqueline H, as she's the smokey eye master.

Yes, definitely be careful what you label a smokey eye.

^LOL!

To achieve Kim's look I would first start with transition colors. I would first start with a light brown on or above the crease blending in circular motion to get rid of the harsh lines. Next I would add a darker brown right under that color and blend the same but not too high. And last, I would apply a bit of dark brown to the lid and try blending that to get the gradient effect you want in a smokey eye. And the bottom lash line almost the same but only with the medium and dark brown. Just smoke the bottom really good keeping the dark brown closest to the lash line and very dark. Line the waterline with black add mascara and voila!

Although Kim doesn't look like she has a smokey eye, may be wrong but I don't know.

And if you add shimmer to the lid don't add it to the brow bone. Matte brow bone is always great.

OMG Diggie you are awesome! I kinda figured it wasn't a smokey eye, I just didn't know what that look was called. But after googling some stuff, the only thing I found that made sense was "smudged eyeliner look" and I don't even know if that's right. I just want my damn eyes to stand out! LOL

THANK YOU!
