I was looking at the Elf eyeshadow palettes a couple days ago and was wondering whether or not to purchase it. I have more neutral and warm tone eyeshadows at home and want some color just to switch up a bit. Could someone please give me their honest opinion on this palette? (:

here is the thing about ELF eyeshadow in my opinion; you can't even begin to compare them to higher end brands like Urban Decay or Lorac when it comes to pigmentation , texture, blend ability etc. that being said, I have a few elf palettes and I do use them why? because they are insanely affordable you get a ton of colors and its a great way to play without breaking the bank. yes you have to work a little harder to get good color payoff, but for the price, I don't mind putting in a little extra effort. you can make them work for you just be aware some shades may be a little chalky or not as smooth as others. I would say there are some real inconsistancies within a palette, but ELF always has great promotions so I say go for it

I know you already have tons of warms and neutrals but the elf 32 pc. warm e.s. palette is amazing- less chalky, more pigmented and has tons of shades for smokey eyes! I do not know if its still around though. <3

This is the e.l.f 32 pc. Cool palette. I love it the color payoff is good and it has some neutrals and some brights.

Iv been using elf for a while now. After testing a few of the cheaper products, i decided to buy the elf studio 141 piece master collection, i use it more than my expensive stuff because i like to try different colour combinations. They arent pigment rich, but the colours do build nicely and iv never had any trouble blending them. I use bare minerals prime time eye shadow primer and the eyeshadows dont budge, even in the sweatiest night clubs when im dancing my socks off!!
I also have the elf eyeshadow pallete in 'party'. I really liked the darkness of the black, and the white has a lovely sparkle, the only problem i found with these shadows is the powder falling from my brush on to my cheeks but didnt take long to learn i didnt need as much as i thought for a nice smoky eye.

I own lotsa elf stuff because it doesn't have stuff in it that I'm allergic to. I have the master palette the 100 palette the smaller palette and the tiny travel palette and I use them almost everyday. The shades can be chalky. Some super smooth others have no color pay off unless you build it up a lot. But they are great for the price and the colors that do work are amazing. I love them

Use a primer first, then use a milky white pencil as a base and the colors will really pop!

I really don't like the 32 or 100 piece palettes. I feel they're just all around cheap. The neutral one is good for beginners, but don't expect much color pay off from bright colors. You'll need a good primer, shadow base and a really loaded up brush in order for you to really get anything.

Thank you for the feedback ladies, do any of ya'll have any suggestions on color palettes that have great pigment payoff?

I enjoy Coastal Scents 88 palettes. They're cheap & in my opinion, have a much better color pay off than ELF's. They're a a lot of fun to have around & experiment with.

Coastal Scents currently has a sale on their 88 palettes. $12.00 + shipping.

However, these 88 palletes ARE a wholesale item which means you can find them from Asian sellers on Ebay. Here it is for $9.55 (no shipping)

I have them and they work wonder I am African American woman and the color pay off is good. If I want really bright colors I use my Nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk ( white) and I get more out of it

in my opinion the elf elements option where you make your own pallets is the best. cheap but the shadows are better than in the huge pallets and don't dry out. they last all day and you can customize it.

I tried a brand of eye shadow called L.A. Colors I found at the dollar tree near my house. what caught my attention was the bright colors. I bought the trio that includes purple, a darker blue, and a pale blue. the colors have a good amount of pigment, and I was surprised at the blendability and smoothness. They are comparable to urban decay. they also sell mini pallettes with 6 shadows, 8, all for $1 :) I recommend them to everyone.

I'm currently doing a review on ELF pallets. I have fallen in love with them. I think the pigmentation and blending are brilliant. You're getting a great product at a fabulous price, not to mention the ingredients are not going to hurt you!

I have tried elf palettes that I purchased a while back from Ross and I honestly think they do their job, I don't think they are the best out there but for the price is good stuff, I got them to practice my makeup skills since I recently started wearing makeup
