Makeup Expiration Dates?

I've noticed everything I own doesn't have expiration dates. Anyone know the average amount of time to keep let's say, foundation? Mascara?

You shouldn't keep foundation more than 6 months and mascara more than 3. Bacteria can set in after that. Eye shadow is kind of iffy, like if you have had any irritation or infection like pink eye then you should throw it out after it goes away. Otherwise if you are keeping the brushes you apply the shadow with clean then it's fine to keep it for a longer time than other eye products. Hope this helps. :-)
