I've never gotten waxed I just shave but I heard it hurts a little less if you trim the hair shorter first.

I wax every two to three weeks... you should exfoliate first with like a scrub then find a good salon I love going to "European wax Center " wherever you go they should have a serum to apply after to prevent ingrown hairs and you should exfoliate 3times a week after aswell. you will love how your skin Will look n feel..good luck Tuti have fun on your vacation :-)

Defo make sure you're going to a good salon, the first Brazilian I ever had was the most drawn out painful experience of my life but then I went to another and she was super quick and much less painful. The woman I go to now is an older woman and has a lot of experience. It takes her 10 mins to do all my lower section!! Also for me it helps to pull the skin taught (ESP on lady area) because they whip it off it seems to reduce the pain somewhat. Anyway it's not that bad and your going to love the way it feels!

I've heard that a week before and a week after your period is the worst time to get it done due to blood circulation. Just for the pain apparently. I don't know if that's true or not though because I've never been waxed, but you might think about it nonetheless.

Yes hormones can definititely affect the sensetivity to waxing. As far as prep. Do not tan or exfoliate for at least 72 hours before or after waxing. Exfoliate 7 days after first wax to help prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid using lotion on skin before service. If you are taking any oral acne meds. or using any retinol products on the skin to be waxed. Avoid the service

I've heard you can take Tylenol or ibuprofen before. I took some before I've gotten a bikini wax, I'm not sure if it made a difference because ouch! but it's better than nothing!
