Then can produce really unruly and messy curls. I suggest you do it to keep curled hair. The ends are unpredictable as well. If you do, I would try it on a day that you aren't going anywhere just to test it. Honestly you can get the same exact curls with perm rods or flexirods with less fuss.

You have to have thick hair too, my hair is is fine and they looked a mess :/ like all stringy.

I did mine and love them. The key to getting them perfect is having your hair damp and using a moisturizer like an oil. Really great.

Some do it while it's wet and some do it while it's dry. If you look on YouTube there is a variety of videos on bantu knots and they will demonstrate their methods of how they do their bantu knots and what products they use before they do the bantu knots.
