I have medium length thick hair and have side bangs
I also can't do French braids and I have layers but I can do twists and simple braids
And in basketball we can't have hair pins
I need help and any ideas are great thanks everyone

I heard box braids stay put okay with layers. Or braid a pony tail and if layers fall out, cool.

I am the same exact way! I play 7th all the way up to JV basketball and I have to fix my hair all the time. I have medium length hair that's really thick with side bangs also! I usually do a regular braid with my bangs and then tie it off with an elastic and they put my hair in a high ponytail that way if I miss a few hairs from my bangs they will stay up since it is up high. Hope I helped!

These might help, I know you said you can do French braids but I bet you could with a little practice. Also he hairs styles in the video that do have French braids you could do twists instead.
