There's something called epoxy. It comes in a glue/resin and in a putty. Obviously you'll want the glue. It isn't an instant bond like superglue, you'll have to allow it to dry for a few hours or overnight, but it's a very strong hold. It's relatively cheap, about $3 or $4 for a big tube of it. You may be able to find a smaller tube though if you don't think you'll use much (I didn't and I bought it for a prop fabrication class where I expected to need a lot of it and I still have a bunch left over). Just be careful not to get it anywhere you don't want it because once epoxy is bonded to something, its not coming off. At least not easily.
And of course, super glue always works lol :)

I've found that using something as simple as lash glue has helped my brushes stay together. I'm not necessarily rough with them but use them constantly & have had no problems with then handles falling off again.
Granted, it's not as tough as super glue or Epoxy as Catilin has mentioned, but it's quite a convenient fix. haha

You could also try e6000 glue from the craft store. It's pretty versatile & waterproof so it should hold up through regular brush washings
