It's definitely a splurge, but dior amber diamond is my favorite. You could use the first two strips or mix all the colors together for a nice golden highlight.

I've used the Benefit Watts up and it is a really lovely highlighter.
NYX has a highlighter as well, I don't recommend the powder one but I heard the liquid one is much more do able. ☺
Kevyn Aucoin is definitely an amazing highlighter!
Hourglass has an Ambient Highlighting palette that is worth the splurge, MAC Mineralize skin finish is also a very popular highlighter.

I'm on the pale side, and love too faced candlelight glow. I apply it to the forehead, cheeks and Cupid bow, and blend. It's the perfect glow on me, I've had mine for a year now, hit pan last month, but still have at least another years worth of product in it

My beloved highlighters...
NARS albatross
Kevin Aucoin candlelight
Bobbi Brown shimmerbrick in bronze
Hourglass Ambient lighting powders in Luminous and Radient
The best brush I use for application when using any of these highlighters is my Bobbi Brown sheer powder brush. Its all in the brush...it can either make or break a highlighted look. For the longest I was disgusted with NARS albatross because my brush was picking up way too much product and one day I tried the BB sheer powder brush and viola! Made a huge difference.
