Please don't judge me. I don't know much about eyeshadow in general and I can never seem to get it to show up on my eyelids with my skin complexion. What can I use to make the colour show up? Does primer help the colour become more visible or just help it stay on? I'm oblivious...sorry.

NYX has a jumbo pencil in milk, it works as a great base to get your shadows to show up

An eye shadow primer...urban decay primer potion and NYX Eye Primer are great. NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk is great also. Check also to see if you have eye shadow that is poorly pigmented...some brands are known for it.

Yes primers help.
Urban decay original is only okay if you don't have oily lids.
I would suggest NARS eyeshadow primer if you have oily lids.
The nyx jumbo pencils are awesome for bases too.
You might have shadows that aren't too pigmented as well, and you can only make them go so far even with a primer.

Using a MAC paintpot has definitely helped my colors go on more vibrant and has made them stay longer. I love the NYX jumbo pencil in Milk but it creases on me even if I use a primer underneath.

I'd have to agree with the mac paint pot it's my personal favorite , the nyx jumbo pencil is amazing but it does crease badly if you don't use a primer underneath. And if your using color try finding a cream eyeshadow that's the same color. It works amazing

PRIMERS
Too Faced Shadow Insurance $30
Urban Decay Primer potion $32
elf eyelid primer $1
NYX eyeshadow base $8
OTHER BASES
nyx jumbo pencils $8
Avon shadow sticks $10
Essence shadow stick $5
Maybelline Colour Tattoo $8-$10
Using a pigmented colour cream as a base will help the colour pop and last longer. Primer prevents creasing and oiliness on the lids, as well as making the shadows look vivid. :)

I use urban decays primer position and macs painterly paint pot and I've never had a problem with my eyeshadow staking on or creasing

Primers will do the trick. Also try white eye-shadow underneath, it will help brighten the color.
