What exactly is a "pore reducer"? or what is the most effective way to reduce the look of pores under makeup? I don't want the product to be too expensive but I'd love great recommendations ( just under 30$) please!!

I heard good things about the monistat chafing gel. as weird as it sounds lol. & nothing will reduce your pore size. it's impossible.

Silicon primers fill in your pores, which make it appear that your pores are reduced when you apply foundation. Good quality primers will be $30 or more. Hourglass, MUFE, Cover FX, Laura Mercier, and Laura Geller are all great.
On the cheaper side, there's Elf primers and like the other ladies said, monistat chaffing gel, but in my opinion, it's worse than wearing no primer because it's horrible at pro longing foundation.. There's actually a picture of it compared to smashbox, and no primer, and monistat came in last place. Maybe because it's not formulated as a makeup primer.

Lexi summed it up pretty well. Also baby skin and miracle blur are NOT primers. They will only make your makeup slide off lol. They will reduce the look of pores but putting foundation or powder over will make your foundation worse. They're meant to be used alone and a lot of people don't realize that and end up hating it.

Most pore minamizers slightly irritate skin (sort of like a lip plumper) so your pores swell and the opening looks smaller. primers that minimize the look of them usually by filling your pores with silicon like lexi said therefore if its for under foundation use a product formulated as a primer so it just filles them not swells them.
