Hi guys, I'm no pro and I haven't started using liquid or gel type eyeliner yet because I only get crooked lines :(. Now, my problem is with the pencil it keeps on smudging after 4-5 hours. Maybe it is with the brand? I use shiseido and stila. They tend to be really smooth and dry up after a while but after some hours get all smudgy again.
Maybe it's my skin? I'm combination skin and tend to be oily in the noseline. Everything else is dry even the forehead.
Or maybe it is my technique? Should I use something on top of the liner just to keep it in place?
Or should I just forget pencil and keep practicing and use gel/liquid instead? Haha.
Thanks!

Hi Sckye - are you using a primer? Where are you wearing the liner? Lash lines? Waterline?

Mabe try using a water proof eye liner. I find that they last way longer and don't smudge as easily.

@Sarah, oh I'm not using a primer. And I'm wearing it along the lash line.
@Kaitlin, thanks. yep I need to work on my liquid liner skills yet so I can use a water prrof obe.

Water *proof one..
And @Sarah, I meant I'm not using an eye primer but I do have the standard face primer.

Hi Sckye! A waterproof or long-wearing liner will help as well as using an eye primer. Setting it with eyeshadow helps too!

Eye primer will help much. It's a little drier than face primer.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend using a primer and see how that goes. Some other brands you might want to try for some non-budging, non-fading formulas that I've had luck with are: Urban Decay ($20), Pixi ($12), and Jordana 12 Hour Pencil (about $3)...

I agree with using eyeshadow to set it.
