Hi! So I heard you can use babypouder on your hair to take away the greasiness. And I tried this. It worked when it was supposed to work.
BUT is it possible that your hair becomes greasy waaaaaay sooner afterwards? This was what happened with me after I shampooed it. could the baby pouder have this effect?

I don't think so. I use baby powder all the time. It could be you shampoo or conditioner.

Well, all you're doing with the baby powder is absorbing excess oil so that your hair LOOKS clean. It will never give the same effect as actually washing your hair, which is why your hair appeared to get greasy so quickly afterwards.

Baby powder is an okay alternative, I use corn starch for a more volumized effect.

I don't think so. My hair can tend to get greasy and I use it all the time.

@Hannah but I meant it got greasy after washing my hair (with the shampoo/conditioner I always use)

Since I have black hair, I usually use coco powder or I take a dark oil absorbing powder for your skin and lightly brush that on.

But since the powder isnt really cleaning your hair, that is not what is making your hair more oily, the powder is just absorbing the excess oil. It could be your shampoo and conditioner. Try not conditioning your roota.

I thought maybe my scalp produced more oil because the powder took it away, but that's not possible? (If so I'm not planning on using it again..)

When conditioning your hair, you only want to do the midshaft to ends. not the roots. loading conditioner on your scalp will make it greasy faster. baby powder shouldn't make your hair oily faster unless youre using it everyday.

Baby powder is fine it just makes my dark hair look gray and dull. I prefer dry shampoo. Works waaaaay better.

It would take a lot of baby powder multiple times, if thats even possible.

To the best of my knowledge it's the talc in the baby powder that is the issue for some. It's an irritant to the lungs, etc..

I used baby powder for a long time, dry shampoo never worked for me. Just make sure you rub it in really good, I never noticed any extra greasiness from it, I'm at the point now where I only wash my hair once a week and haven't used baby powder for a year but it took me time to get to this point.
