Fatter curling iron barrel..

So I played with my curling iron for a few minutes and found that my hair looks cute curled especially since it's so short. My biggest issue is how it sometimes "crinkles" at the end. But I'm a beginner on the curling. Anyway I'm thinking of getting a bigger barrel to do bigger curls. I won't be looking for something expensive. The one I have now is Conair. Maybe sometime I'll curl it a little and take a picture =)
what are some you ladies use to get those big beautiful curls?

I have Conair also. love it. When I curl my hair I try to make sure my ends are covered with the iron.

Don't use the clamp and it shouldn't crinkle...wrap the hair around the barrel and hold the end.

I have mine on it...but you can remove it...it saves money on expensive curling wands.

You should be able to unscrew with a screw driver.

How do you roll your hair on the barrel with no handle

Just take the hair and twist around the barrel and hold on the the ends till you get your curl.

Agreed do wand style curls on an iron and it will be adorable. I hardly ever use my Marcel at school with the clamp I always do wand style there so much prettier and not all crinkled at the ends.

Use a small barrel though, big barrels on short hair is just going to give you volume you won't get any curl, you need a smaller iron.

I just posted on your other thread on how to avoid this! It's not the clamp, it's the technique. Once you get the new technique down, which is easy, you will never struggle with the crimp again! :)
