Hmm. Honestly I had no idea. I am absolutely 100% terrible w/technology so I wouldn't even know how to edit! Good to know that everything is not what is seems.

Lol Casey, that's my feeling. I'm sitting here taking 5000000 pictures trying to get one that looks good, because editing isn't a thing I know how to do.

I'm neutral because honestly :Idc: (let me rephrase that I can see both sides) but I have to point out that sometimes the original looks better than the edited, but people still chose the edited over the original just because in their opinion they just like it better and you'd never know that unless you saw it.

I have a problem with ppl posting pictures that are completely not there's and don't bother saying that it's not there's. like posting a pic of someone who isn't them but kinda looks like them and then they get comments like "what lipstick are you wearing?" And they don't bother telling these commenters that it is not them or they may actually lie and answer the question. But I will go ahead and state that I don't have a problem with ppl posting a picture of say a foundation from a website in order to talk about it...if that makes sense.

And sadly I have fallen for these overly photoshoped images...but to each there own...luckily I am now able to understand that some of the posted photos are just a look I will never be able to physically attain because they are Photoshoped...thankfully I'm not good with editing so I won't ever feel so self-conscious with myself that I won't be comfortable posting an unedited photo.

Am I the only one who hasn't seen this epidemic? Lol I mean I seen the obvious ones but can someone post an example of a not so obvious one?

I understand the lighting thing. Makeup pics almost have to be altered with the light because the camera does it no justice (unless it's a really good camera.) But the whole adding makeup on virtually is what I don't really see often.

I'm all for editing pics. I'm notorious for using making lighting adjustments and using a smoother to give my face a more polished look.
BUT. Some people take it to an extreme. It's so easy to spot a bad editing job when the entire picture looks completely blurred and airbrushed. You should be able to see the strands of your hair, it shouldn't look airbrushed...
It extremely irks me when makeup artists on Instagram edit their work. Smooth your selfies all you want, but when you are putting a smoothing effect on your clients, it's false advertising. I know that all makeup brands do that for their ads, which to me I think is wrong. Especially Covergirl. It's a bit unrelated, but at the bottom of their mascara ads it says "Lash inserts were used prior to application of Lashblast." Like wtf.

I seen this last night of some girl that posted a pic that looked totally airbrushed. she claimed it was natural beauty but it was obvious it wasn't.

There's a picture on here of some nails that a girl did, and the hands are so badly photoshopped, they are really blurred and some of the blurredness even goes onto the nails, it looks so weird! Swear all the photos on here of eye looks and whatever are massively edited.
