Girls seriously we need to talk.

I think I'm getting sick and tired of girls wanting to contour to look like these women we see on the E! channel.

I get people want to slim down or enhance your features. But wanting to learn to contour your face every day isn't a good thing.

Ladies we need to contour the way we see ourselves. Reshape the way we think, we are all beautiful and just coz we don't look like beyonce, Rihanna, Kim kardashian or whoever you guys want to look like, guess what?! They don't look like them either. Strip away the makeup and masquerade and you're left with women that don't look like their pictures most the time. Still we spend our time wishing and wanting to be them and making ourselves feel bad by hurting ourselves psychically and emotionally and not realise about all the photoshop that happens behind closed doors.

I'm not attacking anyone on here. I just want us all to love ourselves without makeup on first. We'll be a happier place.

I know I've rambled on and a lot of people might loose respect for me in here. But I've grown to love a lot of people on this site and finally found a place I can be myself. Love my makeup and talk about makeup. None of my friends talk about makeup coz they don't use it.

So let's say one nice thing about the person that has commented above. Weather you've spoke to them before or not. Let's show each other some BL loven 😊💃💃💃😊

P.s. If anyone else wants to add in anything I've missed out please feel free to do so. Xx

I completely agree Hibz. There is nothing wrong with enhancing your features but in my opinion it's gone way beyond enhancing to completely changing your look. I've worn makeup for a while now but it's only been the last 5 years or less that I have really started to actually care about my makeup. To actually want to learn more about the right products to use, how to use, etc. I like the idea of contouring but I just don't think that on a day to day basis it's necessary. Even though I have a fat face and some people may want to tell me to learn how to do it. Just so you know, I haven't lost any respect for you. I appreciate you taking the time to state your feelings in the hopes of helping us. Thank you.

Thank you ladies.

Regina I love the way you're going about makeup. Learning is the key.

A lot of people don't like the way they look and it sucks.

We shouldn't contour on a daily basis unless your putting a bit of blusher on.

YW. I'm trying. I know my application is not nearly where I want it to be, especially my eyeshadow, but it will get there. And to each his/her own. I don't want anyone to think I am being judgmental either. Definitely not intending to be. :-)

Here's my nice thing for the person above me. First off I have talked to her before on here. She is very kind and open minded. She doesn't seem to care how others think. She's very helpful and beautiful and inspiring to me. Xoxo.

Hibz this is such a valid point, I try to really drive home love if self to my daughters especially my teen right now. I think the sooner in life each person learns to love our authentic selves, the more truly happy people there will be. Thank you for bringing this up. Michele I really admire your raw, this is who I am and I love it, attitude. You seem to be so genuine and such a beautiful person.

Totally right!! We sometimes waste so much time trying to look like someone we are not, that we lose the big picture and forget that we are unique.

Agree, I only contour if I'm off on a night out (which is very rare) I mainly just wear mascara and concealer day to day. As I've grown older I've become more aware of what I find great about me and my face. Everyone on here is amazing, always get great advice and helpful tips. When it comes to application and technique everyone is at different stages however you should always look at where you are now from when you started rather than where you want to be, all progress no matter how small is fantastic. Plus Like hibz said others have said be happy with who you are and what you have. I now use makeup to enhance what I was naturally born with instead of trying to hide or change it. I am what I am and I hear bonkers is the new cool :)

Hibzzzzz I love this post!! So true! We all must love ourselves first and foremost :) I have to admit though, I cannot stand how I look without makeup lol! But when I do put makeup on, I don't do it to look like someone, just enhance my own beauty that God blessed me with! I like the fact that you started to compliment the person above you so to that I say, Kim C. Nice to meet you! I just looked at your pictures really quickly and I must say you do an amazing job! I love your eye looks, especially the white one you just did and your profile picture! Beautiful keep it up!

I completely agree!! :-)

Amanda V. I love that you're such a lovely, warm, kind person. Your hair is to die for and I love that you have a warm and honest face. I'd trust you with my life savings lmao lol

Christy you are the reason I love bangs. Even though this is the first time talking to you I love your features.

The one person I truly adore on this site is Michele. Michele is the lady that isn't shy to take on a challenge, even though she's just recently got into makeup she'll try and recreate a pro's work. I wish I had the confident in myself to do that. Michele you're an absolute blessing to meet and since the day I signed up to BL you made me feel more than welcome.

Please don't think I don't appreciate a lot of you women on here because I do. It's just if I could run up and hug someone it would be Michele xx

What's weird is when girls berate themselves on here I try to help them with their confidence and ppl go wacko like I called their mama fat. I agree about the contpurong, the thing it youre supposrd to highlight and contour your features not sculpt out features that you don't have. I don't contour because I don't need to nor do I want to. I enjoy the shape of my face and will highlight the best parts. thanks for saying what a lot of us have been thinking.

I completely agree. I'm not "skilled" with a brush but I am slowly learning. I rarely contour because well... I like my face the way it is. I've never done it and now I see girls everywhere doing it and telling me to, but I like my face. The only thing I'd ever change about my face is my acne and dark eye circles... But again those don't change the way I look. God I'm rambling haha. And I love Michele too! She is soo sweet and so free. She has amazing self confidence that I'm jealous of. I wish I could just have an ounce of that self confidant... Sunshine and rainbows beam out of her face! Love all you girls! And hibz your sooo freaking adorable!

My self confidence now comes from being teased for so long I've taught myself not to care anymore

Tia I had a mother email me asking if I could do full face makeup on her 13 year old daughter and make her look like Kim K for the night. She sent me a picture of her daughter and said "she may not have her features but I'm sure contouring her face she will."
I replied back telling her I advise against it and she went mad on me. Stating that her daughter needed it 😢😢

Jennifer you look like my best friend. Don't change an ounce of you.

Raylene I don't try and be adorable but it's something that just oozes out of me Lool

Michele I wish I had your strength xox

Contour has indeed been the beast in the makeup industry for awhile and most don't realize it can give a reverse effect on some, meaning a chiseled backlash that is not flattering.

Hibz you are so right, I'm a makeup artist and women kill me saying they want to look like someone in the magazine's our on tv. they don't look like that for real, like you said, take away the hair extensions, the lashes, the Photoshop, the plastic surgery, and they don't look like that. it's really bad. I try to high light everyone's personal features and show them they are beautiful just the way they are. Thank you for this message.
