Bronzers are not to be used as contour because they have red/brown color and the shadows on your face have a greyish color so buying contour sets or products that are specifically made for contoring :) hope this helps!

If you don't have any specific products, try buying a foundation/concealer/powder that's 2 shades darker than your skin, and cool toned. Katrin is right about the bronzer, for various reasons.
1. Bronzers are often very sheer, and therefore when applying them to get solid color you have to apply more, thus giving a muddy or dirty look to your skin. They're also often shimmery, and that's not the effect you want.
2. At it's basest form, bronzer is meant to add warmth to the face, which means that it will always be warm toned, and contouring is the creation of shadows, which are greyish in nature, and cool toned.
In short, bronzer will never give the correct effect for contouring, because it's simply an incorrect product choice.
Foundations/concealers/powders, like I said, work well in a pinch. Also check out the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Kit, it comes highly recommended by Jacqueline H.

Def listen to hannah! If you can't splurge on a contouring powder, She recommended me a darker face powder and ever since I tried it I'm in love!
