Just for comparison I'm light med and I have the shade buff. that's even a bit to light for me. I found those powders to be very sheer so they are a bit more forgiving if the shade is off a little. I don't know if that helps any

I don't own it, but what I do is I use cream for contouring and use a powder of the some color of my contour to set it. You can use the Anastasia contour as a way to set it.
