So my hair is naturally very very light, and I tone it with a T18 toner from color charm.
I recently added purple colors to the bottom layers, and love it. However my hair is still a little to "goldy locks" for it to look right with the purple. Now I don't really want to go down the bleach path, so I picked up a very pale ash hair color and 30 developer.... I'm just wondering if I still would need to bleach it or if that will take care of it.
Any tips/advice that anyone who has that color, or had it would be very appreciated(:
sorry that the pic is such awful lighting..

wow no one? Well to clear up the question, I'm simply wondering if I should go ahead and use an frosted ashy blonde dye, or if I should bleach it first.

I've always had to bleach mine. But since your hair is light, the bleaching shouldn't take long at all. And not do so much damage.

Honestly, unless you actually want to to dye it a purple, you may have to lighten it... And I'm not certain that it is pale enough for a truly pastel color. Someone asked a question about that color hair as a temporary option a couple days ago in another section so I'm just copying and pasting my answer from that post (I say this because you mentioned using things I suggested like Wella T18). Hopefully you can find this helpful..

My other post reads:
" First, you need your hair to be super super pale. I had bleached my hair to what I thought was light enough for a pastel lilac color, but the toners and silver shampoos and conditioners I used were just taking out the yellow a little bit, but not working the way I wanted them too. I had to lighten my hair even more the next time I was in the salon, and it worked like a charm. Now just using my shampoo turns my hair violet! I like to alter my hair color everyday, I use my toner to give it a grey color and let my shampoo and conditioner sit on my hair longer to give it a more purple tone. I also used a diluted dye solution to achieve a nice lilac color with my first round of bleaching (when it was not picking up color from the toner and shampoo). That made a beautiful color and I used a dye that were notoriously crappy so it would wash out quickly incase I wanted to change my colors. And diluting a dye also makes it weaker I suppose. I think the diluted dye may be your best bet unless you choose to lighten your hair even more.

My most effective hair products:
Shimmer Lights Conditioning Shampoo(light purple outcome)
Clairol Shimmer Lights Conditioner(light purple outcome)
Wella Color Charm Toner - T18 Lightest Ash Blonde (just removes my yellow tones)
Wella Color Charm Toner - T14 Pale Ash Blonde (just removes my yellow tones)
Roux Fanci-Full Temporary Color Rinse - Ultra White Minx (more of a silvery tone)
Roux Fanci-Full Temporary Color Rinse - White Minx (more of a silvery tone)
My Diluted violet dye mixture: 80% WHITE deep conditioner 15% Pink Dye (I used Beyond the Zone Color Jamz in Bubble Head Pink) with 5% Jerome Russell's Punky Colors in Violet

I use only these products and I don't put anything in my hair that isn't violet or violet toning products otherwise it pulls my yellow tones back out.

This is a photo of what my hair looks like when I just wash it with Shimmer Lights (I let the shampoo and conditioner sit on my hair for 2-5 minutes each depending o my patience level) "

Thank you!! Shimmer lights has got to be the best shampoo/conditioner ever.
But anyways I already went ahead and used a frosty ash color with a 30 volume developer and I just rinsed it out. It's lighter but I still have some of the yellow tones. I'm hoping that my shimmer lights will pull it out. Thanks again for your advice! Have you ever tried color brilliance?

Shimmer Lights may do the trick, if you just let it sit for a couple extra minutes! It honestly worked better than all the toners and everything else combined, so with the results you received with the frosty ash toner, you should see something you like. I have only tried Ion Color Brilliance in their teal and aqua colors, and I've never hated a product so much. I hated it because it was extremely thick, like rubbing clay into your hair! It was impossible to work with since it was a straight pigmented dye and no developer is used with it. If you wanted to try their purple colors to achieve a light light color, it may be fine since you would have to dilute it with a ton of conditioner and that would fix the thick, dry feeling it has. Unfortunately I haven't tried their range of of more natural colors from their semi, demi, or permanent formulas. The consistency is different with those colors, but I haven't tried them. Were you looking at their purple or were you looking at one of the other colors as a toner?

If you haven't tried it, L'oreal hicolor hilights in ash blonde with volume 30 should lighten your hair enough and remove any leftover yellow tones so your can dye your hair lavendar. Seriously, that stuff is the closest to bleach without actually bleaching your hair. It's also quite gentle for a hi lift process. I usually let it on for about 45 to an hour.
