Hey everyone. A couple of days ago I decided to tone my blonde hair with an ashy Clairol Nice n Easy dye (it has bleach in it). It came out really nice but my natural dark roots went kind of orange - eek! It's not that noticeable unless it's parted or wet, but I still want to fix it. I know I shouldn't have used a box dye (although the actual colour is pretty) but I just cannot afford a hairdresser right now.
What should I do? Do I dye it with ash again and hope the colour lifts past the orange stage? Or something else (I've tried toner)? It's taken me so long to get to this shade of blonde, I can't start over again.
Thanks for any input!

Take a good look at your roots in natural light and if they are really orange get a color with a blue base to neutralize it. If its more of a yellow get something with a violet base, or if your roots are closer to a red color get something with an ash base.

Use a purple shampoo. I recently bleached my hair and and I had some orange you used purple shampoo and it fixed it. You can buy it at sallys.
