Thats a pretty good barrel curl Michele S. If you can find a thermal resistant glove it would make it so much easier for sure. You can adjust the amount of curl by adjusting the amount of time you hold the section on the rod. And maybe not bring the rod so close to the scalp. But nice one for being so practical and creative.

I'm a little late it looks good Michele...the curls come out like that then after your done with the whole head you can flip the hair upside down and fluff it out a bit and the curls will seperate a bit.

Why aren't you curling using the clamp? I'm guessing it's because you get the funny crimp thing from it? I think most people don't know the "proper" way to use a curling iron but once you do it will blow your mind how much easier it is and how much better the results are. I don't think it's something I can explain well so I'm going to go look for a YouTube video for you.

Ok. smh. There's a lot of misinformation on YouTube. On one hand if it gets the job done, fine but there is a way that professionals curl hair. The video I found comes the closest to showing that. If you see how she keeps pulling the hair through the iron and re-rolling, sort of keeping it moving, that's what you want to do. I think of it as "walking my hair through the iron". But the important thing to think about is to keep your hair moving through the iron.

I don't watch videos sorry, yes it was the crimping on the end, so I took it off to try. Like I said I'll get 2 more with clamps and leave it on. I'll work on it. It's been years since I used a ci =)
