You can literally use dawn dish soap. I specifically suggest dawn because it is safe to use in order to clean animals, therefore it won't damage your brush hairs! you can also just use a facial cleanser!

I swish mine around in dish soap and olive oil then wash them off. after that I pit leave in conditioner in them for a while and then I wash them off and let them dry over night.
