Everytime I put my foundation on it moves or looks cakey, I use benefit makeup and I've recently bought the 15 hour primer- it lasted me and hour at best :( maybe I used it wrong I'm not sure but its really embarrassing that my foundation just constantly looks awful! Any tips or good products to try? I need desperate help it makes me so self conscious I've tried setting spray aswell and that hasn't helped any either.

Is your skin oily? How do you prep your skin before you apply your makeup?

Use one that best matches your skin tone, not a lighter or darker shade (to make it look more natural) and before and after apply your skin color powder with a make up sponge in downward motion to cover acne in the best way. My mom is a makeup artist and she told me celebrities always do this!

Try Mary Kay I used to have the same problem then you swapped to Mary Kay beige 300 and I never have that problem also when you put it on make sure your face is moisturized other wise it will still happen I recommend a light coat of Vaseline

Try a liquid concealer and a powder foundation. bare minerals makes excellent primer. And finish with a setting powder, again bare minerals makes a great one ;)

The formulas of the primer and foundation probably aren't meshing well together. And how are you applying the foundation?

Try using a mattifying primer and a long lasting foundation like revlon color stay or L'oreal true match. I find the true match stays a long time! Also make sure you are setting your foundation with a powder so it stays all day. There are some really good drug store mattifying powders out there! I have heard that some Benefit products don't mesh well with products outside the brand. Hope this was helpful!

I'm a novice when it comes to make up so powders were a disaster for me. I switched over to liquid foundations and they work really well with my skin and look flawless. I use make up for ever HD foundation which is pricey but works well on my sensitive skin. I pair it with the myrad primer from Sephora then spray on elfs overnight setting spray. my make up has lasted for 24 hours and looked natural. I highly recommend liquid foundation.

A tip I learned that made a massive difference was to make sure your foundation and primer match ingredient wise. So if you have a water based foundation, use a water based primer, and so on. Not all the ingredients need to match, just the first ingredients should be the same, water/water, glycerin/glycerin. When I did that it really helped. <3.

I've always had that problem when using my benefit and a primer outside of that brand. I switched foundations and went from benefit to the revelon color stay and I absolutely love it! They have so many shades to choose from and you can use any brand primer. I always make sure to wash my face really well and moisturize like normal. I always use a setting spray too! That stuff is magic. If you don't want to spend the money on the urban decay one NYX has one that is a lot cheaper that works just as good.
