My skin has been very problamatic lately, it is typically dry and I usually have clear skin. a few months ago I started getting cystic acne all over my cheeks, but nowhere else. due to that I tried using different products to help combat that. in your experience with your skin, has it helped using multiple products or does it seem worse the situation, I don't really have sensitive skin btw. but since it is dry I use moisturizer, sometimes an oil, rosehip oil for scarring, and I have a seperate face wash for night and day, and sometimes I use facial masks. is this too much??

I actually had the same type of problem. all the ways to get rid of acne just dry me out more so I just put ice on them. they don't hurt anymore and are mainly under the skin now. the problem with cystic acne is that they take a very long time to go away so just be patient. I don't think your doing to much, that's about what I do to.

Your skin sounds just like mine. I always had clear skin but very dry. Then recently I have been getting acne all around my jaw/chin and cheeks. Right now I am using mario badescu products and so far I like them although it hasn't been long enough to give a real review. The products I purchased are the Silver Powder and the Seaweed Cleansing Lotion.

Use a cleansing cream, a toner without alcohol, and a water in oil moisturiser twice a day, this is perfectly fine and is actually recommended (I'm studying beauty therapy) a gentle germicidal cream applied directly to spots will kill bacteria, and running ice over them will reduce redness, try steaming for 3-5min once a week to clear pores and restore sebum balance, a facemask fortnightly to moisturise and nourish your face would be fine, or if you prefer the natural method egg yolk is moisturising, and contains Vit E. and collagen :)

I have actual recieved my certificate of dermalogica back in september qualifying me as a skin therapist (term coined by there dermatologist) and dry skin is perfectly safe cleansing twice a day provided the products are suitable for their skin type, your skin is most active at night meanibg lymph glands are draining waste products from your skin more actively while you sleep, these toxins will be pushed out of the skin cell and pushed up to the surface as nutrients and vitamens are drawn towards the skin cell, by cleaning in the morning you can clear these toxins that develop on your skin and prevent congestion in the pores, an exfolaitor is good for dry skin but generally should be avoided with acne as can break heads on pustules and spread bacteria, and be too harsh on the skin, regardless of your skin type as long as long as you're using the right products for it cleansing your skin twice a day morning and night is recommended. It's in Art and Science, and Beauty Therapy by Susan Cressy two of the books which we're using to study in college atm, cleansing in the night removes make-up and dirt caused by pollution, enviroment, etc

I didn't mean it to sound defensive I just meant that's what I've been taught by an internationally rrcognised qualification.

No issue, haha I just read over my comments and they do sound defensive, they weren't meant to come out like that.
