So Im thinking of starting a Youtube Account..Should I invest in a Professional camera? If so, which are good choices?! Also, what is the best way to get people to actually watch and follow me?

The best way to get people to watch you is to have good editing skills and have the good makeup, not just the drugstore brands like the high end brands. I started in August and a few people have watched me and you need to be doing what everyone else is doing so if someone is doing the I <3 fall tag then you find out what it is and do it. Camera quality is very important so I think that yes you should invest in a good quality camera. I suggest the Canon Rebel T3i or T4i. They're wonderful cameras, very user friendly, sorta expensive but Black friday is coming up so look out for the sales (: And getting people to follow you is all about advertising. Leave your links on some of the post here on beautylish and if you have a tumblr.. post your link there. And even on facebook or other youtube videos. Just always remember to be you, dont change for other people just because you think it will make you more popular :3 I hope I could help (:

I'm on the same boat I'm thinking of creating a channel but I want to create a different concept. When it comes down to makeup how to's they are all very similar. I want to create something different and unique.. It's just a matter of brainstorming and getting others opinions :) What do you think?

I totally agree with Miranda! I would suggest to:
- promote your channel after you have some good videos
- be committed
- have a good camera quality
- be original
- have fun :)

Here are some tips (:
1. get a good quality camera. You don't have to go all-out and pay thousands of dollars but just try not to use a webcam. People like to really see what you're doing.
2. This goes along with #1 , film with good lighting. Make sure the light is coming in from on front of you , not behind you. An try to use natural lighting. (In front of a window)
3. For your first couple videos , do some more popular videos. Foundation Routine , Everyday Makeup Routine , What's in My Purse , What's in My backpack , etc.
4. Be yourself ! No one wants to watch copies.
5. Be fluent when speaking. Not too fast or slow. (To help this , try to use an editing system to edit out bloopers).

My advice is to make sure you watch what the trends are on youtube and sign up for every makeup and beauty email subscription you can to stay on top of everything. You can watch what other beauty youtubers put out there but don't over do that or you will start mimicing and not be something specail. Above all remember to tell the truth and be who you are. People can spot a fake right away. Lastly remember that "the woods would be very silent if only the birds who sang the best did." Meaning you are not going to be fabulous overnight, but you learn along the way and add to the community.

I used to make videos about 2 years ago. Constant rude messages. I've noticed rude/nasty comments on EVERY youtubers channel. Make sure you have thick skin.
