I have the same type as you and use hairspray to keep the frizzies down. Bed head works GREAT for curly hair! Suave works even BETTER. Been using these two for years!

I have same type of hair and I use oils in my hair care routine to tackle this problem and I don't use shampoo as the sulphates create frizzy dry brittle hair so I use bicarbonate soda mixed with water however there are sulphate free shampoos out there! Also leave in conditioners are great to give your hair moisture and protect it also, but again check that it's also sulphate free! :)

I use textured salt spray and I love the way it defines the curls. Give an effortless look

If your going to use salt spray it can get those beautiful beach waves but can be very drying so make sure to deep condition often :)

Your definition and my definition of poofy are two very different things. You can try no pooing which will make it much easier to manage, and also try leaving a but of conditioner in your hair or try a leave in conditioner to help minimize frizz!

Try argan oil products from pro naturals, they're sulfate free and moisturizing which helps keep your hair healthy and not frizz. I use their argan oil on my damp hair so it won't poof or frizz.
