So, this might be a dumb question... My acne control moisturizer recently expired, but I still used it for the last 2 days because it was all I had till I went to the store, (which I'm going to tomorrow), but how do expiration dates work on makeup and other products? Do they just stop working, or do they become harmful? I always throw stuff out after it's past the date, but I wasn't sure what actually happened to the product. Thanks in advance.

I think the chemicals Can go bad and might cause a bad reaction.
like makeup foundation will change colors, eyeliners and mascara carry bacteria and dry and the formula just changes.

Where do you find the expiration date if makeup?

I haven't seen an expiration date on makeup. but your only supposed to have certain types of makeup for a certain time

What nabeelah posted is a great guide to follow and I also agree with Stephanie about the bacteria and having reactions.

not all makeup clearly shows you when they expire (sometimes it will be on the packaging that the product came in instead of the actual product).. The picture that I have attached shows you the expiration date is 24 months. It is inside that little jar with the open lid.

Thanks. I had found an expiration date on my moisturizer because it had acne medicine in it, but it got me wondering.
