So I need yalls help. I never wear eyeliner unless someone else does it for me, however it's a new year and I want to perfect my eyelining skills. What type/brand of liner would you recommend for a beginner? Thanks in advance, and Happy New Year everyone!

I'd recommend either the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Perversion (the blackest black I have ever used) or the Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner (which comes in pen form so it's easier to use). Pencil liner is the easiest to master, because it doesn't require a ton of precision, and liquid is harder but better for more precise lines, and the pen liner is much easier than actual liquid :)

I think that felt tip pen liner is easiest. I use reveling colorstay.

When I began using eyeliner I was really bad at using liquid so I stuck to pencil lol.
Pencil:
- Almay Intense I-Colour defining liner (It goes on very smoothly and it also has a sponge tip on the end which is great for smudging. Some come with an angle tip sponge which is great for attempting a cat eye)
- Rimmel Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner (This one is a dupe for Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner. It has a creamy texture and applies like a crayon. The colour is very bold and stays on well, this is also a great product to put in your waterline because it won't rub off)
Liquid:
- L'Oreal Infallible The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner
- Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner
Both of these eyeliners have a felt tip which in my opinion is way easier to work with when using a liquid eyeliner. They're very affordable but definitely take some practice to get used to it. Try these out when you're more comfortable applying eyeliner

I like to use gel eyeliners as we have more control over the brush tip and I find liquid liners fade after sometime.. Maybeline has a good gel eyeliner it comes with a brush as well.

I started with pencil. I think gel is really easy too. I recommend the L'oreal Paris 24 hr Infallible Gel liner :)

I think everyone's different but for me a felt tip liquid liner was the easiest. Maybelline precise is a good felt tip liquid liner. My second choice would be gel and an angled brush. I like loreal infallible gel liner with the essence angled brush. I've also heard the essence gel liner is good as well. For the water line though I always usually use a pencil, a good one is hello kitty or rimmel's. If your having trouble with the liner staying you could try an eyeshadow (same color) patted over your liner.

I personally love the mac fluid line or the elf liquid liner.

I started out using pencil liner, then switched to gel (Maybellline one) I felt like the gel made everything a lot easier and more precise. I could never get the hang of liquid liner :/

I love the jordana fabu-liner because it has a felt tip which makes it very beginner friendly.

I really don't know why people have so much trouble with liquid liner in the beginning :') I have always used liquid, I hate pencils... With liquid liner you get a way more precize line. I recommend the ELF liquid liner. its really easy to use and it only costs a dollor or two.

I have tried liquid and pencil and felt tip, and I had to say felt tip was easiest of all. I use nyx felt tip in jet black.

I have cult following liners Urban Decay & Makeup Forever which are both good (UD a little better). But honestly Jordana 12 hr Liquid Eyeliner Pencil & Milani Liquid Eye Pencil liner, are longer lasting than both of those other expensive lines. They are incredibly long lasting & both have very dark, rich brown & black shades. Only negative, not a lot of colors. I say save your money & buy these in your basic brown & black. And splurge on wild colors from UD.

As a beginner I would recommend either an eyeliner pen (felt tip) or a gel eyeliner (bent eyeliner brush). Both products are easier to control when learning. When you're doing your eyeliner, start from the middle work your way out. Then do the inner part last. As far as a wing, always use your lower lash line as a guide. Like the other ladies stated, some of the best affordable liner pens are Jordana Fabuliner, Milani Extreme Eye Tech and NYX High Definition. For gel, I would go with Wet N' Wild. It's cheap, creamy and great for a beginner. Good Luck!
