A HUGE pet peeve of mine is when I'm watching a makeup collection video and Mac is separate from all other brands while Chanel, Makeup Forever etc (which are way higher quality and more expensive) are thrown wherever. I just feel if your going to separate you're "good stuff" separate the right good stuff. Mac is a good brand but its definitely not the best.

I agree. I honestly don't get the MAC obsession. its not what it used to be and I'm sorry but there are better products available. I am a MUA and I have one palette of MAC shadows that I never reach for. I have become increasingly dissapointed in their stuff overtime. plus there are so many other great brands available like MakeupForever Urban Decay etc why limit yourself to only MAC?

PREACH! MAC is Good.. but honestly there are so many other makeup brands (both high end and Indie) that give it a run for it's money... Like for instance Illamasqua (color pay off and texture for their lip glosses better than MAC) Eye shadows (Inglot and Sugar Pill are amazing). I think people are not obsessed with MAC, they are obsessed with the sort of power attached to the name so they don't really pay attn to quality, they pay attn to the name. Which is sad considering the AMOUNT of amazing brands other than MAC that are on the market. I love MAC but I am not in LOVE!

Totally agree, their foundations are terrible, eyeshadows aren't the best and lip sticks are good but not the best.

I like MAC for all thats its worth ,in no way shape or form am i trying to down them because they have been around for years and years and i am a professional mua with a pro discount there in which i take full advantage of it.So i have alot of MAC products,But i will say this, MAC is chosen because its name is more popular and familiar to everyone around the world. I Took a makeup class in new york with a celebrity mua and ill never forget what she told everyone. She straight up said MAC is not all that,sure its popular but it doesnt cater to every skin type. Another thing she told us in general, is that people get so hung up in the name of the product rather than its quality.Some of MAC's products arent that good of quality.But they do have some stuff that is of quality. Out of all the High end makeup brands,MAC is the most affordable ,most popular makeup brand.and thats why everyone tends to gravitate towards them.But its about quality because thats whats really important in any makeup brand.

Mac might be what some people can afford? I mean, it would be awesome if the whole world could afford Chanel MUFE etc but that's not always the case. I like Mac, but I also like other brands too.

There are brands like Inglot that are cheaper than MAC and offer same quality and often times better quality products. The fun in makeup is exploring the new stuff. I think people who are too hung up on MAC are missing out on some really great stuff overall. But I think we can all agree MAC is not the MAKEUP GOD of any sort. They are just a popular brand with a cult following (sometimes obsessed following) But I know a lot of brands that offer every product MAC does but better.

I am so glad you said this...I went through an "ONLY MAC" eyeshadow phase, and they are nice. Don't get me wrong. I have a nice little collection that I use for weddings...BUT I have at least 10 MAC eyeshadows that are crap. And I have spent 3 dollars on a wet n wild trio that puts them to SHAME. Really, its nice to have a small collection of MAC, but it definitely is not worth all the money and hype.

I hated my Mac foundation, hated my Mac primer, hated my Mac concealer ... I only love the eye shadows, brushes and lipsticks. I also love how you can talk to a make up artist live on there website!!!!! :) but I don't stick to only Mac, that's silly there are so many good brands out there :)

I went with the hype on Mac stuff for about 1.2 seconds lol- I bought some stuff and wasn't disappointed but not overly impressed either. I do however love their pigments and that's now the only thing I buy from there. I'm a Make Up For Ever and Urban Decay chick myself. Pretty much the same price range but in my opinion better quality products. MUFE is awesome!

I agree with you.it's great to have a wide range of cosmetics and it's all up to you to make it work and .fact is a lot of those brands are related to other brands anyways, look up sister brands of your cosmetics and you'll find out which brands own other one's you'll be surprised.Especially who owns MAC.
