My hair is extremely thick but my edges are a lot thinner. I've been using natural oils to deep condition my hair once a week for a few weeks now. I use olive oil, castor oil, and coconut oil. I also use Argan oil when I flat iron my hair about once a week. I take a multivitamin everyday and I try to drink water everyday. Am I on the right track or do you guys have some suggestions?!?!

You are on the right track! I would try biotin also and flat iron less. Plus wearing protective hairstyles are great 😉

I definitely agree with Jasmina. The heat will definitely set you back. You should try to wear styles that protect your edges. & try wrapping your hair so that you won't have to flat iron your hair so often. If you wear your hair back in any type of pony tails or braids make sure you're not pulling your edges too much because the tension will cause the hair to break & also cause damage to the hair follicle itself which will make it even harder for the hair to grow back.

Oil doesn't condition the hair. It only moisturizes it. First, determine the actual cause of your thin edges: traction alopecia, stress, heredity? I have thick hair and thin edges because my grandmother, mother, sister and niece so. :) Flat ironing once a week on clean, conditioned, heat protected hair is perfectly safe as long as you're using the right temperature. Viviscal works wonders for thinning and biotin is great for faster hair growth. But if your edges have always been thin, you cant increase the amount of hair follicles.
