Hello everyone! I've been noticing this problem lately, most likely due to the colder weather, that my skin looks oily in the middle of the day yet it feels dry. It feels like it needs a drink of some moisturizer or toner. What's the best product to use without compromising the makeup already on my face and that will also not break me out? Does this make sense? I moisturize with Clarins Brightening Plus HP in the a.m., before that I use the Dior gentle toner, I also use a primer. I cleanse with Clarisonic at night. So I feel like I'm doing enough to prep my skin in the a.m. but by the time I eat my lunch, my skin looks and feels terrible! Any suggestions or feedback is hugely appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not much of an expert but I find that hydrating mists are excellent for freshening up make-up throughout the day. I believe Evian have one, as do the Simple range. They give a boost of hydration without damaging make-up! Hope this helps!

If its looking oily but feeling dry, your moisturizer might not be the right one for you. I'm not a skincare expert, but that's what it sounds like to me. Eimear's suggestion of a facial mist is a great idea, because if that can help solve your problem, it's much easier and cheaper than trying to find a whole new skin care routine.

I use a rosewater glycerine spray if I get dry during the day.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I think the foundation I've been using is the problem. I switched to a tinted moisturizer and so far, so good! I used Face Stockholm's Mineral Tinted Moisturizer with much better results. I also think my application of the foundation was all wrong, probably way to heavy than I should have been doing. I did purchase some MAC fix+ and that helps as well.

see, i use to have intense oily/dry face. turns out that my skin was really really dehydrated. so once i got on from oil free to normal moisturizer and later on to a thick nourishing moisturizer my oil just stopped!
now i have just a bit of oil, all it does it help my makeup look dewy which i get complements on so it's a big step up from when i could watch my makeup slide off my face :P
maybe give that a try!
