So my skin is normally comb oily (and I do get dry patches) but nothing like this. My skin feels so tight and dry, and today I didnt wear makeup which normally means I get really oily but nothing happened. What can I do? I drink A LOT of water, and I wash with a moisturizing wash and use a thicker moisturizer. What is going on? I don't really have money so please don't recommend a bunch of things. Thank you.

Do you know what did you do to make your face feel really tight? Where you walking around in the cold all day?

I never left the house, and it was really nice out.

Have you changed your skin care? Or even diet?

The only thing I changed was my face wash but that was before this, and I also started drinking more water, that's it.

Maybe its the face wash. Also just cuz you don't go out doesn't mean that the cold weather doesn't affect you. I haven't gone out either but my skin still gets dry.

It could be from being inside so much with airconditionig/heat. My skin gets very dried out from being in buildings with it on full blast because all of that recycled, dry air isn't the best for you.

If your skin is usually combo to oily with only a few dry patches you should be aiming to treat the majority of your skin (oily combo) by switching to a moisturizing face wash you are sending your skin and glands the message that they do not have to produce oil anymore because you are providing your skin that, thus stripping your skin of its natural acid mantle, causing it to feel tight and dry. I would recommend switching back to your old routine, keep in mind that it can take 6 weeks to see a change in your skin, be patient, treat the dryness once or twice a week with a hydrating over night mask, origins makes a few good ones. I am an esthetician, feel free to message me with any questions :)

Definitely try a hydrating masks. Drinking water won't hydrate your skin directly, it will hydrate you, but the hydration of your skin is different. Make sure you moisturize your skin with moisturizer though, and don't over wash your face.
