How often should you use a mask? And how often should you exfoliate? I have sensitive, acne prone skin. What would be a good exfoliator for me?

I think once a week maybe.

Once or twice a week for exfoliating but no more - the mask it depends on what it is - but I would alternate between a sulfur or clay mask and a moisturizing mask - and only use each about once a week on days you do not exfoliate - I like the drying mask and healing mask by mario badescu they are great for sensitive acne prone skin but a little pricey.

Try a glycolic acid cleanser to exfoliate instead of harsh exfoliating "beads" once again I recommend the glycolic foaming cleanser by mario badescu - but be careful not to use it when you have freshly errupted pimples.

I use a mask about once a week (Either Origins Clear Improvements charcoal mask or Freeman Dead Sea Mineral mask. Both are really good for acne prone skin. Freeman also has a charcoal mask/scrub as well but I prefer the one from Origins.) As far as exfoliating, 1-2 times a week is usually a good number. But I sort of do it as needed. Some weeks it's 1-2 times or more, and others it's much less frequently. I just kind of determine it by how my skin is feeling.

As far as scrubs, I recommend any of these:
- Burt's Bees Citrus facial scrub - it's very gentle and smells like pumpkin pie. It comes in a jar and is semi solid, to use it all you do is scoop some out in your hand and add a little water. It's $8.
- Michael Todd True Organics Jojoba Charcoal facial scrub. Charcoal is good for oily/acne prone skin and the jojoba beads are round and very gentle. This is a more pricey product, I wanna say around $24 but I loved it and it's so gentle that I'd definitely recommend it.
- St. Ives Green Tea scrub. I like this one a lot as well, it's very finely milled but it can be a tad harsh so I'd definitely be a little more careful with it. It's gentle but I could see it becoming irritating if over used.
So I'd recommend the previous two a bit more because they are super gentle in my opinion.

Whichever you choose, steer clear of the apricot scrubs, whether it be St. Ives or a generic brand because they are too harsh and contain very sharp grains and can cause tears in the skin which is obviously not good ha. I hope this helps though! :)
