I had pimples on my face and bought tea tree oils from body shop and it just made it worse , why did it happen? Tea tree oil is supposed to calm it?

Tea tree is harsh. it depends on what kind of breakout you have. definitely stop using it.

I use the cleanser and it works well but the oil is too harsh.

Clean your face with something basic and use aloe to calm down the inflammation.

I use pure tea tree oil when I get pimples but I only use a dab on that spot..

Usually you have to dilute tea tree oil, so it sucks that you've had that reaction! If you still want to use it, dilute it with a bit of water and use a q tip to apply it to your blemishes. If not, you can try a spot treatment like Burt's Bees Blemish Stick or Maximum Strength Spot Treatment.

I have had the same reaction :( break outs in the same spots as before but a lot angrier! I decided to give it a month and stop if it's doesn't change. Sucks hey?! :( are you using the foaming cleanser and clearing toner? I am. plus the scrub twice a week.

Vitamin A,C , E and also zinc cream will help a bit. don't go mad and let your skin breathe. Don't touch your face much and less make up till will calm down.x

Tea tree oil is only suppose to b used as a spot treatment, if you are applying it to your entire face you need to make sure you are cutting it with a carrier oil (ex. Almost oil, coconut oil, etc.) or even water or apple cider vinegar...also, not all tea tree oil is 100% natural. In general tea tree oil is too harsh for most peoples faces...what care you using it for if you don't mind me asking?...

I hope you didn't just lather it all over your face, tea tree oil is very strong and should be used just as a spot treatment just some in a qtip and dab it on the blemish. And you can also dilute it and mix with other oils like coconut oil or sesame oil. Even after that some ppls skin just can't handle essential oils.

I agree dilute it with at least eight parts water as a toner and only dab a tiny bit at full strength as a spot treatment.
